The American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) has instituted background screening checks on all adult senior coaches and all adult team volunteers, such as team manager, financial manager, events manager, equipment manager, administrator, etc.). Background checks will be required every THREE years. This is a change from previous announcements on the timing of the background checks which was initially for a two year period.
This measure is being undertaken to protect all the team officers, volunteers and adult coaches for any team participating under the ASHA umbrella. If you have any question about this background screening policy, please contact Mike Hickey, President of ASHA, at email@example.com.

Each ASHA team will determine whether the cost of the background screening is reimbursable. This link is for all ASHA coaches and volunteers EXCEPT FOR COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS FOR PENNSYLVANIA-BASED TEAMS.
BEGINNING IN JULY 2015, IF YOU ARE A COACH OR VOLUNTEER FOR A PENNSYLVANIA-BASED TEAM, YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK AND OTHER PENNSYLVANIA REQUIREMENTS BY CLICKING THE APPLICATION FORM FOR A PENNSYLANIA ASHA BACKGROUND SCREENING CHECK. THIS CHECK IS FOR PENNSYLVANIA COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS ONLY.
